2014 Certificate Program in Cuban Studies (UPDATED)‏

(www.miscelaneasdecuba.net).- The Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies (ICCAS) at the University of Miami is proud to open enrollment for the upcoming CUBAN STUDIES CERTIFICATE PROGRAM to be held from September 29 until October 9, 2014.

This 2 weeks long, high-level program is designed for professionals and others interested in Cuba and its future. Our program’s expert instructors use a multi-disciplinary approach to reflect Cuba’s past and address Cuba’s present and future issues.  The program creates an ideal atmosphere for participants to interact, exchange ideas, and think innovatively about the challenges and opportunities awaiting Cuba. 

The fee for the certificate program is $395, which includes the recommended books for the course. The course will also include the participation of guest lecturers.

The Program for Fall 2014 includes eight sessions in 2 weeks, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Casa Bacardi:

HRF supports El Sexto's first US exhibit

El Sexto, a Cuban graffiti artist and activist, will showcase his work in an exhibition entitled “PORK,” which will take place at Market Gallery in South Beach, Miami, from February 26 to March 16.

El Sexto in New York: Cuban political prisoner visits HRF‏

Photo by the author.   (www.miscelaneasdecuba.net).- NEW YORK (December 14, 2015) — Human Rights Foundation (HRF) met with Cuban artist and dissident Danilo "El Sexto" Maldonado last Tuesday. After being imprisoned for ten months, without trial, for creating art that Cuban authorities considered "defamatory," the graffiti artist arrived in New York City to meet with HRF staff, including HRF chairman Garry Kasparov.
